Stephen Duong (Nam. O Mai) hopes to open Tet Thursday with…

The neighbors on Reade Street welcomed Steven Duong like a hero when he opened Nam just north of Ground Zero even before traffic was allowed below Canal Street after 9/11. Then came O Mai on Ninth Avenue with three generations of Vietnamese women in the kitchen. Now he’s put Tet into a spare modern design at 83 Avenue A (between 5th & 6th Streets), focusing on specialties of his hometown Hanoi – like headcheese with bamboo shoots and garlicky Chinese broccoli with crispy sun-dried anchovies. Scheduled to open Thursday.
